I might actually post more of these in the next few weeks since there are a lot of little passages that I've had to axe! Here it is: I'll try my hardest to move quickly, but I also want to make sure that the book is as polished as I hoped for it to be before I put it up on Amazon. Maybe that will be the end of this month, maybe it will be next month. So, when WILL War be published? Short answer-as soon as I'm done with my edits. I don't know if it'll take me that long with this one since my writing process this time around was a little different (aka, my first draft is way more thorough), but it is a much longer book than some of my previous ones. In the past, it's taken me a month or two to get through my edits. However, I have literally hundreds of edits waiting for me, and two more rounds of editorial read-throughs that I have to do before I pass this baby on to other eyes. This is the first part of the news-that the book is completely written. At 129,000 words it's the longest book I've ever written, and over twice as long as the first book I ever published. AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! War is finally written!!!! YAAAASSSS!!! Alright, trying to rein in my excitement, but I wasn't sure I'd ever get this book fully written. For that reason (and of course, other reasons that we learn later), she avoids using any magic whenever possible. Diana, the main character, is a witch but she’s a badass historian and is determined to earn her achievements in life her own way and not just by using magic for everything. Diana has stumbled upon a coveted treasure lost for centuries-and she is the only creature who can break its spell.Ī DISCOVERY OF WITCHES was not what I thought it would be. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. Title: A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy #1) Laugh-out-loud hilarious and endlessly quotable, The Princess Diarist brims with the candor and introspection of a diary while offering shrewd insight into one of Hollywood's most beloved stars. Fisher also ponders the joys and insanity of celebrity, and the absurdity of a life spawned by Hollywood royalty, only to be surpassed by her own outer-space royalty. With these excerpts from her handwritten notebooks, The Princess Diarist is Fisher’s intimate and revealing recollection of what happened on one of the most famous film sets of all time-and what developed behind the scenes. Before her passing, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon was indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a teenager with an all-consuming crush on her costar, Harrison Ford. When Carrie Fisher discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved-plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. The Princess Diarist is an intimate, hilarious, and revealing recollection of what happened behind the scenes on one of the most famous film sets of all time. This last book from beloved Hollywood icon Carrie Fisher is the crown jewel of ideal Star Wars gifts. The forbidden aspect of human x fairie relationship could have been explored more, IF the romance had been more of a focus. One thing I have to say about Jesse x Lukas tho is that they really had potential. He won’t talk about it, but he deeply regrets what happened. “He has not been himself since I came home. Her backbone and how she didn’t forgive him easily > It’s still super super slow burn and the romance is barely plays any role in this series, but I was here for the tension between them after how he betrayed Jesse in the first book. ♞ Jesse and Lukas’ romance was a bit better. “Life happened,” I said matter-of-factly. “Why aren’t you in college? If you don’t mind me asking.” “I should be in college.” I chose not to respond to his implication that agents were smarter than bounty hunters. With your academic scores, you should be an agent, not a bounty hunter.” I read in your file that you have an above average IQ. For some reason Jesse gives me Hermione Granger vibes, very book smart, but can hold her own in a fist fight too. I like her, she’s relatable for her age, a badass, a caring sister. So well done, the ending really surprised me. ♞ Can we talk about the last page? What was that? I honestly didn’t see this twist coming, even tho looking back at it, I knew it was foreshadowed a couple of times, but I still didn’t expect that. Knight continued right where Pawn left off lol. |
